Emotional Support

Emotional Support

We offer emotional support and companionship to those who are dying and are alone, or feel alone. We support families to be with their loved one by offering a break, stepping in when they are unable to or being there with them. We offer one to one vigiling in the final hours and support from the moment of diagnosis.

Companionship

Companionship

Our aim is to provide compassion and loving support, relieving the loneliness and isolation of anyone dealing with end of life issues and their families. We do this through our wellbeing and bereavement support groups and our telephone helpline as well as our TLC training which we offer to members of the public and other organisations. More details can be found at - TLC in the community

Bereavement Groups

Bereavement groups

Our wellbeing bereavement groups are peer support for those who have been recently bereaved or are struggling with grief. We aim to provide a safe space for members of the group to talk and share their experiences with grieving and loss. As facilitators we uphold the rules and boundaries of the group and hold the space, allowing the members to lead the conversation. Around five or ten minutes at the end of the session is left for some wellbeing exercises such as heart math, guided meditation and singing bowls to name a few. We hold sessions in Kilmarnock and Saltcoats once a week and once a month we will have a djembe drumming session to aid in the health and wellbeing of all members of the group.

Paths For All

After The Last Breath...

A select few of our volunteers are highly experienced in this area. They have also completed a course on After The Last Breath with Pushing Up The Daisies to add to their knowledge.

If you would like to keep your loved one at home for a while, or just for a day or two before going to the funeral directors, we can offer you advice and we can provide assistance in performing their last offices.

This is a specialised service which is an honour to provide and there is no charge for this, though donations are always welcome. More information can be found at https://pushingupthedaisies.org.uk/
